Identify gaps in community services and create, partner, or invest in programs that help ALICE households build financial stability and independence by providing increased access to education, workforce skills, financial literacy, and one-time assistance funds.
Our Programs
VITA - United Way North Central Florida operates the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to help taxpayers who need assistance with filing their taxes. This free program utilizes IRS-certified volunteers to provide basic income tax returns with e-filing saving clients time and money.
United for ALICE - United Way North Central Florida partners with United Way of Florida to invest in critical research of the ALICE population, those households who are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. In our six-county region, approximately 52% of households fall below the ALICE Threshold. ALICE is the backbone of our community and the driving force behind our strategic initiatives and partnerships.
